A letter of recommendation for Ray Rahni of "Paint Track"
In the fall of 2004, we were preparing a move from Brooklyn to Croton and only had two weeks between closing and move day to get our new place ready (each day that we stayed past the two-week window would have incurred huge fees). We needed a fresh coat of paint, as well as all the floors redone, and, with Leslie pregnant, it was imperative that this work be done before we moved. After meeting with and getting estimates from several firms, we went with the recommendation of our realtor (and soon-to-be-neighbor), and trusted Ray Rahni to help get our house in shape before the big move day.
With practically no supervision, Ray and his friendly, competent team carefully prepped, (and, oh boy, there was a lot of prep!) and painted the interior of our much neglected 2400 square foot house with low VOC paint. Ray also personally supervised the refinishing of the floors. While the work was taking place, we decided that our basement walls and floors needed to be painted with Dry Lok to protect from moisture, and this last minute requested was granted with no additional time added to the job estimate. When we moved in, all the work was completed as requested, and done with a professional level of finish.
In addition to the work requested, Ray had his team paint a neglected interior railing that we originally intended to replace, but have since kept, as well as volunteering to remove some disgusting paneling, all at no extra charge. He even removed an ugly ceiling fan for us, and then heroically hung the new one when it arrived a few weeks later.
Since moving in, we have hired Ray to insulate, sheetrock and paint a ceiling in our workroom. This job was also completed in a professional manner. Our 5 year old was especially sad to see Ray and his assistant complete this job, since he had become so enamored with the idea of “helping” them each day. Having people working in your home can be so intrusive, but Ray has such a nice way about him that you really don’t want him to leave.
We have many types of projects pending on our home, and now that we’ve been homeowners for over a year, we are especially thankful for having met Ray. He is a total gentleman and made us feel welcome in our new neighborhood. Trying to get contractors in Westchester to even show up to give an estimate has proven to be a difficult task, but this was never the case with Ray. His pricing is competitive, his estimates are accurate and his work is great. We enthusiastically recommend him.

I recently purchased my first home in September, 2004, and it has been the biggest investment of my life. I had zero homeownership experience and it was obvious that I had my work cut out for me. The entire house that I had purchased needed prep. work in every room such as sanding, plastering, the removal of several of old layers of wallpaper, and then paint. The job was clearly out of my league and I started asking friends and co-workers if they could recommend a good painter.

Just like clockwork, I received his well written estimate on time and after fine tuning a few things the work began.
Throughout the entire process, Ray was on top of every little detail and kept me informed on the progress. Everything went as planned and it was a pleasure dealing with Ray. He addressed all my concerns and I was always left with a feeling that things were going to be done 100% right. Ray never “cut any corners” and his workers were very clean. After dealing with Ray, it was clear that he really took pride in his work and was willing to go the extra mile to insure that I would be happy. Believe me, I dealt with many other contractors such as plumbers, electricians, carpet cleaners, and carpenters and Ray was the most dependable and reliable in every aspect of his work. There was even an instance where the electrician had made several unwarranted “extra holes” in the ceiling and Ray corrected them.

About a year and a half ago, we bought a house in Westchester. There was a lot of painting to be done, and it wasn't an easy job. Some of the walls were in pretty bad shape, and they had also tested positive for lead paint, so we needed to find someone who really knew what they were doing.
